Baja newbie Wes Murphy pushes the '09 car to its limits during a test day in mid-October.

The Terps Racing Baja SAE team is making terrific progress as the fall '09 semester winds down. The team is well ahead of last year's schedule, with the new 2010 car frame nearly completed. Much more vehicle testing has been conducted as well, and the team has been taking the 3rd place-winning 2009 car off-road every other weekend for driver training. Critical data is being collected to tune the drivetrain and suspension components - essential for honing the new car's performance and winning crucial design points in competition. The team is excited to once again compete against universities from all over the world, beginning with the SAE Carolina event in early April.

Stay tuned for updates on the build of the 2010 car and photos from test outings. The Baja and the Formula SAE team shops are located at the rear of the J.M. Patterson building. Feel free to drop by to learn more about Terps Racing, or visit their website: www.terpsracing.umd.edu.
